Our vision is founded on a collective commitment among the eight Member States of the Regional Organization for the Protection of the Marine Environment (ROPME), in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 14 (Life Below Water), as well as relevant Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs), the strategic directions of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Regional Seas Programme, and the national environmental strategies of the Member States
