SECURE DIVERSE, HEALTHY AND RESILIENT BIODIVERSITY AND PRODUCTIVE ECOSYSTEMS

The focus of Goal I is to secure diverse, healthy, and resilient biodiversity and productive ecosystems in RSA and to progress towards a holistic and integrated response by ROPME and member states in addressing the drivers of RSA health degradation resulting from climate change, loss of marine and coastal biodiversity and all forms of marine pollution.

To achieve the objectives of Goal I, ROPME developed three main programs and a set of priority areas under these programs. These three programs are:

1. The Marine Biodiversity Conservation Program (BCP).
2. The Pollution Prevention Program (PPP).
3. The Climate Change Program (CCP).

Each program will focus on a certain priority area in RSA and implement a set of key activities that will have strategic impacts after the implementation of well-defined projects.
