GOAL III: Advocacy
Enhancing Preparedness
Enhancing preparedness is essential for reducing the vulnerability of marine and coastal systems to natural and anthropogenic threats. It involves developing the capacity of communities, institutions, and governance systems to anticipate, respond to, and recover from environmental hazards, including extreme weather events, pollution incidents, and climate change impacts. Effective preparedness strengthens resilience, safeguards ecosystems, and protects socio-economic activities dependent on marine resources.
