Marine Protected Areas
Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) are designated regions in oceans, seas, and coastal areas where human activity is managed or restricted to conserve biodiversity, protect critical habitats, and sustain ecosystem services. MPAs are a key tool for preserving marine ecosystems, supporting fisheries, mitigating climate impacts, and promoting sustainable development in the ROPME Sea Area.
