Marine Pollution Prevention and Response Program

The Marine Pollution Prevention and Response Program aims to reduce the risk and impact of oil spills, chemical discharges, and land-based pollution sources across the ROPME Sea Area. It includes preparedness planning, regional contingency coordination, and rapid response training for national teams.

The program also strengthens legal frameworks, enhances monitoring systems, and promotes environmentally sound maritime operations. By building national capacities and encouraging joint action, it ensures that ROPME member states are ready to protect their marine environments from pollution threats.
