The Regional Conference of Plenipotentiaries on the Protection and Development of the Marine Environment and the Coastal Areas was held in Kuwait in April 1978.In this Conference, Eight Member States signed the accord on the Kuwait Regional Convention for Cooperation on the Protection and Development of the Marine Environment. The conference also adopted the Kuwait Action Plan to implement the agreement and the Protocol conceding Regional Co-operation in Combating.
