The 3rd Steering Committee Meeting for the preparation of the ROPME Strategic Plan was held virtually on 25 September 2023. The meeting was chaired by the representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain, with participants including representatives from the Member States and CEFAS.
The Committee reviewed and confirmed the final texts of the Vision and Mission Statements. The objectives of the Organization for the period 2024–2028 were discussed individually, and necessary changes were made to ensure they aligned with the strategic priorities.
The Executive Secretary introduced the main components of Part II of the Strategic Plan, which covers the Operational/ Operating Plan. It was emphasized that this was an introductory presentation, with detailed discussions planned for the next meeting.
The Committee also noted that the Five Strategic Concept Notes, previously prepared by the Ad-hoc Committee on “Reorientation of ROPME Programmes,”
constitute a major component of the Operational Plan. The schedule for upcoming Steering Committee meetings was reviewed, and it was reconfirmed that the final attendance meeting would be held on 29–30 October 2023 at the ROPME headquarters, with official invitation letters to be sent to all Member States.
